ONE OF TARAWA'S UNRECOVERED DEAD

ARRIVED AT TARAWA ABOARD THE USS MONROVIA

Sgt. Dornie B. Reynolds' family has information that he was killed when his LVT
struck a Japanese land mine at Tarawa. Their records contain information that
Sgt. Reynolds and Captain Thomas B. Royster were in two different LVTs
that both hit land mines almost simutaneously and only a few yards apart.

THE CROSSES DO NOT ACTUALLY REFLECT THE LOCATION OF THE REMAINS
